Work continues on a new building (a noodle house) to the right of the driveway that normally leads to Rivendell from North Main near Pringle. Depending on when you come by, you may not be able to get up the hill to our Ugly Metal Building.
For an alternate route, head up Central (just north of Ygnacio Valley Road on N. Main St) and make a left at Crokaerts Street. Follow that until you can’t go any further and make another left. We’re on the left side of the metal building you will see, about 2/3rds of the way down. Look for bikes and lugs sticking to the facade.
If this is confusing (this is confusing), call us and we’ll talk you in. 925 933 7304.
General stuff that works for non-locals now:
The mystery bike project (HS) is coming along slowly. Next year we’ll have two more 650B tires. The Yen is fo sriggen strong now that any Japanese-made bikes are out of the question, and everything we get from Japan is killing us, and that’s a lot. The new MUSA stuff is coming in, and we’re working on a rain jacket that may end up costing a million dollars. We may do a cheaper version of it, too.
In a few months, maybe sooner, we’ll start using a new computery system that has promise and fear built right into it. There will be little but some change on your end, but please give it a chance. It will be good for everybody, but we’ve been really happy with our current system.
We hired for Vaughn’s job. A woman! Jenny! Vaughn’s last day is Friday. Holy cow, we’re going to miss him. We had our last S24O with him last night, and saw a long, orange shooting star.
Shimano has some new cantilevers that look pretty good, and we’ll start stocking them soon.
Velocity has some super neat projects (related to rims and wheels), and we’ll say more later. Some stuff, they won’t tell even us.
We’ll have two new winter garments that are just as goofy as Splats are, but for other body parts. Just as functional and even cheaper. Splats work great. They’re not slick enough to be big-time popular, but those brave souls who use them love them.
We’re considering some more big-old pay-for rides, and Keven is working on the details. One per season is the goal, but we’ll see how it goes and of course, will keep you posted. Lowish price, not a lot of coddling, but a good deal, still.
As everybody here knows, I’ve been finishing a book. I’m still finishing it tonite. It’ll be out in Spring, if all goes well. If all doesn’t, I’ll wish I hadn’t mentioned it.
